Birchbox February 2015

February 2015 Birchbox!!! This month it came super late even after Ipsy! Well, again I didn’t get the beauty blender that some subscribers got! The only exciting thing in this box is the Eyeko liquid eyeliner and the makeup remover was my sample choice.

One thing that I dislike about Birchbox is perfume samples which I hate! but it does states that I will get at least some through out the year so…. I knew what I was getting into! so with that out of the way lets start with the box.

1.  BeeKind body lotion full size is $15 this smells lemony to me hehe very refreshing and leaves skin soft.

2.  Eyeko Skinny liquid eyeliner full size $16.  This is a UK brand and I read a lot about it so I am happy to try and test it out.  I like that its in a pen shape form for easy apply and skinny tip too!

3.  Juicy Couture Hollywood royal perfume sample.  nothing to say about this.

4.  Juice Beauty blemish clearing cleanser full size $22.  just a cleanser to me clean my skin and does the job.

5.  Marcelle Gentle make-up remover for sensitive eyes full size $15 great hypoallergenic formula and take off makeup very well.

This month’s box didn’t excite me too much just the same products just different brand.  waiting for a WOW box!

Birchbox January 2015 review

My January Birchbox came so fast this month! I didn’t pick anything from the sample choice email so this is a completely random or what they say curated box based on your profile.

I got a pretty good variety box from makeup to skincare to haircare.  so like Birchbox say 2015 Let’s Do This!

Sumita Color Contrast Eyeliner in the color Jaipur Gold.  to me this looks like a olive greenish shimmer color.  not sure if this is my color tho.  This is a sample size of .024oz/.7g and a full size is .06oz/1.6g for $11.00 so this is a third of a full size so it’s not bad at all.  But at least it’s not a black one that I have like 5 of them laying around.

theBlam Stainiac in the color Beauty Queen 1.2mL/0.04fl.oz and full size is .3fl oz for $17.00 I never know how to use a stain for cheeks it never blends well for me.  but i will try this for my lips and give them a rosey tint.

Naobay Body Radiance Lotion is 30mL/1.0fl. oz. it is very moisturizing lotion with a light lemongrass scent. full size product is $18 for 250mL.

Number 4 Hair Care Non-Aerosol Hairspray 30mL/1.0fl. oz. and the full size is 200mL for $30 I’ve tried their super comb prep & protect spray and enjoyed it last summer.  This hairspray has a good smell and a good hold to keep flyaway in place.

When Travelmate sheet Mask face mask.  this botanical loaded shet mask soothes and nourishes after sun, wind, and other elements.  this face mask is suppose to fit any size shape face and i am hear this because I have used others that is too small to cover the whole face.  A set of 4 mask is $28! so this one alone is $7!

This box has a value of $19 in my calculation for all 5 products.  I will use 3 out of 5 products and I think I will need to give the eye pencil a try to see if it will work with my skin tone.  I like Birchbox for the fact that it gives me products that I wouldn’t buy myself or try so this is such a great way to try new products and if i don’t like it just toss it and not have to hurt my wallet too much.  That’s why I like sample sizes so I wouldn’t waste anything if I don’t like it.

Birchbox December 2014 Review

I received December Birchbox on 12/12/14 and use one thing over the weekend.  I have been with Birchbox for 6 months now and I must say that even tho the sample sizes of these products are small with deluxe samples sometimes.  But I like the brand choices that Birchbox offer and the points system is just great!  I will continue with Birchbox and explore more brands and new products.

Love this month’s box design on the blue and gold color scheme.  Also, this box came with a $10 Gap gift card too!

Davines Replumping Superactive leave-in treatment fortifies strands’ structure to leave them looking thick and shiny.  Spritz 5-10 sprays onto twoel-dried hair and style as desired.  Bonus items are the shampoo and conditioner samples.

I do have thin hair and this smells good and will give it a try especially my hair gets more dry in the winter season too so this is just in time!

SeaRX Anti-Wrinkle Facial Lift Treatment Serum with Dead Sea minerals and potent hydrators, this formula fights wrinkles and fine lines.  Smooth a thin layer onto clean skin.  Wear alone or follow with moisturizer.

Tried this product and the packaging isn’t well made at all.  When you squeeze the product out the tip of the applicator breaks off from the tube itself.  So, I suggest you to use this quick and not wait since the it might be airtight.

Catherine Malandrino a Birchbox exclusive Style de Paris perfume.

Real Chemisty Luminous 3-minute peel.  This acid-free peel gently exfoliates for instantly softer, smoother, brighter skin.  Apple to clean face and massage to slough off dull, dry skin. Rinse away.

I hear serum does wonder to the skin and it is normally a pricy product so i’m happy to have and try.  Not a fan of perfume so this is just meh to me.  As for the peel, I tried a small spot on my hand and it did leave my hand softer and not much of a scent either.  I can’t wait to try on the face.

 Mirenesse iCurl Secret Weapon 24Hr Mascara With its unique sculpting brush, this long-lasting formula gives lashes a dramatic lift.  Sweep on two coats for an eye-opening effect.  To remove, use warm water and gentle pressure.

This is my favorite finding in this month’s box!  It does what it claims to do with curling and lengthening the lashes.  This does not smudge or flakes even after 4hrs of wear so i do believe the 24hrs wear.  This is also an easy removal too just warm water and gentle rubs.  it doesn’t leave my eyes with any black smudges.  this one is going right into my everyday makeup bag.  Definitely would buy the full size product when this is done.

This box has introduced me to a new brand and a great product! I am happy with it even if its one product!  I haven’t tried the leave-in treatment or the peel and I have a good feeling that I will like them too.  so let’s say 3 out of 5 I like and this makes it worth it to get this box.

Birchbox November 2014 Review

Finally my November Birchbox has arrived!!! Even though I know what is in my box still it is nice to open the box and actually touch and feel the products. I know I’m weird like that which makes it hard for me to do online shopping because I want to touch everything before I buy it.

My products inside the box! box looks a little cramped but that’s okay right?

So I’ve been waiting for the Klorane Dry Shampoo for ages! and finally I got one in my box!  This one is with Oat Milk in Natural Tint, which will be great for my black hair! I’ve read lots of positive reviews about this product on birchbox so i’m glad to finally be able to try it myself.  I’ll update later after I use it which is going to be tomorrow since I’ll be washing my hair today.

What’s a Birchbox without a lotion item right?  I got the Gilchrist & Soames Spa Therapy Body Lotion.  It is antioxidant-rich moisterizer that smooths and softens with botanical like grape seeds.  To me this product is a bit watery so it might not be a good winter body lotion but it does absorb into the skin fast and smells okay.

COOLA Tinted Matte SPF 30 sunscreen.  this is a mineral based tinted moisturizer that softens, evens skin tone and has a matte finish.  I have not try anything from COOLA before so i’m glad to have this in the box.

Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive This is an amazingly effective and gently peel with fruit-derived acids to dissolve dead skin.  it says to use this at night and 1-2 times a week.  Usually at night time I’d like to use a sheet mask and relax and then take it off and sleep away.  but i will give this a try on a layover somewhere since it’s a small tube and easy to carry with.

ModelCo Party Proof Lipstick in Get Naked.  This is a hydrating semi-matte formula that lasts as long as they party does.  This is a very nude shade of lipstick that I don’t have.  so this is a great addiction to my collection.  I normally wear lip gloss so lipstick is something I put on and leave the stick at home. hahha i prefer to use lipgloss on the go.  It is a decent size tho! It will last me a very time!   good base color to layer with a colored lip gloss i think.

This is the bonus item I received in my box andit is the Firstcracker ChocoPods it has sea salt, a dash of chipotle and popping candy crackle in dark chocolate.  I opened this as soon as I was done looking through the box and shared it with my husband.  He didn’t know about the chipotle and he said why is it spicy? but in a good way.  it does have a kick but not strong and doesn’t last.  I would have liked this more if it doesn’t have the chipotle in it.  I like the combination of the popping candy and chocolate.

Overall, this box has a bit of everything that I could use! it has makeup to lotion to chocolate.  I am most excited about the dry shampoo and lip stick.  this box is a win for me because when you review the items in this box you get points and with the bonus item I got 60 points and that’s $6.00 to spent!

Birchbox November 2014 view your box!!!

Well even tho I haven’t received my November 2014 Birchbox yet.  I was able to view my box in my account on birchbox.com From the look of it I think I will enjoy my box! I got a lipstick hopefully in a nice fall color and dry shampoo that I’ve been waiting for months! But haven’t gotten one in any of my birchbox so that is just fun to finally try it!  Also the apple peel was something I choose for this month.

Birchbox September 2014 review

I can’t believe my September birchbox came so early this month!!! Even before the sneak peak 4 came out!!! So my box is my own sneak peak! 🙂

I do like the new box design it’s very colorful and happy!

What the box looks like inside and right away I see something I’m going to love using!

Yup! It’s the Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm in Ripe Raspberry and it does look pretty dark. But it goes on sheer and you can build up the color for a richer red. I’m happy to get this color versus the nude.

Also I got the Jouer luminizing moisture tint in golden color and it is nice! This oil free SPF 20 formula adds a dewy, natural looking glow. It is really small but it’s nice to try it and If I don’t like its not a big waste.

So next item is the Davines shampoo and it has natural roucou oil and it’s sulfate free formula hydrates strands and boost shine. Also comes with bonus samples of conditioner and all in one milk multi benefit beauty treatment

A juicy couture perfume sample was in my birchbox mini box. Not a fan of perfume sample because I have enough a few bottles last forever. This does smell good and sweet.

This Liz Earle cleanse and polish hot cloth was my choice! And I’m excited to try it and I read a lot of good review on this. It comes I the blue box like a Tiffany blue box haha. It has this muslin cloth that is suppose to wipe away the dirtyness from the cleanser so this will be a nice touch and will see how well it cleans

Birchbox August 2014 unboxing!!! The Everygirl Box

It is time for my August Brichbox unboxing! I was super excited about The Everygirl Box because it has the benefit they’re real push-up liner!!!!

Birchbox is one of the original beauty sampling subscription boxes, and I think it is one of the boxes that has a great value. Sometimes the samples are smaller than I would like, but it is a great way to explore around for new brands.  Plus they have one of the best reward systems. As usual Birchbox comes with a card detailing the products and how to use them.  Below is a picture of what the box look like when first opened.

First item is the Acure Organics Brightening Facial Scrub 30ML and this is a paraben-free, botanical-rich cleanser that gently exfoliates and boosts skin’s radiance.  Massage a dime-sized amount into damp skin and rinse away.  Great for all skin types.

Second is the Not Soap, Rado Happiness Inducing Body Wash 44ML and this aromatherapeutic cleanser will brighten your outlook while you lather.  Paraben-free! Massage generously into damp skin, breathe in the good vibes, and rinse away.

Third item is the Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect 30ML and its a sulfate-free leave-in conditioner that safeguards color, strengthens, and nourishes.  Mist evenly onto damp hair before styling.  (I have received this in my July box so already a duplicate item.)

Next two items were both inside this TEE-HEE mini box.  Fourth item is the Harvey Prince Hello sample size and this best-selling spritz that mingles cheerful citrus with floral notes.  Apply to pulse points and let this upbeat scent do the talking.

Last and final item is what I’ve been waiting for and it’s the Benefit Costmetics They’re Real! Push-up Liner!!!! ( OMG, this has to be the tiniest eyeliner sample I’ve ever received.) Gently squeeze base of tip to push up gell, remove excess, and sweep along lash line.

Birchbox July unboxing

This is my first Birchbox!!! I know it’s way late because when I signed up for this subscription it was already the third week of July and they still sent me a box from July and I just got it! So, I didn’t get to choose what I want for this month. Anyhow, below is my unboxing!

What I like about Birchbox is that it comes with a card with a list of the products and a brief description.

What the box looks like inside with all 5 items

First item is the Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect full size is $32 and my sample is 30ML. This is a sulfate-free leave-in conditioner that safeguards color, strengthens, and nourishes. Mist evenly onto damp hair before styling.

Second item is the Harvey Prince Hello Body Creme full size is $22 and my sample is a 15ML. This is infused with the best-selling citrus-floral scent, this hydrator leaves skin silky-smooth. Massage generously into skin.

This body creme smells amazing and does not feel sticky at all. Really like it.

Third item is the Cynthia Rowley Beauty (BB Exclusive) Silver Eyeliner full size $16 and my sample is a .8g.  This is a NYC-based designer’s new metallic liner goes on smoothly for long-lasting wear.  Glide along lash line for a defined look or blend within 30 seconds for a smoky eye.

Fourth item is the Supergoop! Daily Correct CC Cream SPF 35+ full size is $32 and my sample is 3ML light to medium self-adjusting shade PA+++  This is the next-generation SPF 35 CC cream that triple protects against UVA, UVB and infrared-A rays.  Apply a nickle sized amount over face and neck and it works as both a primer and foundation.

This CC cream feels incredibly light and not oily at all.  The shade matches my skin tone too and I have medium skin tone so when I first saw that its light to medium I wasn’t too sure.  But I have to say that this has got to be the smallest sample I have ever gotten!

First Post!

First post!!! WooHoo!!!  

I started this blog because I have been obsessed with monthly subscription boxes such as Birchbox, Ipsy, Boxycharm, etc. back in May 2014.  I googled “monthly subscription box” and WOAH! a bunch of search results came up and a whole new world came up to my face!  There are all different types of boxes from food to travel to pets to beauty to geeky stuffs!!!  I was overwhelm with all of the boxes and I wanted them all and NOW too!  I told my fiance about them all and he looked at me with a “look” and said oh cool and how much? I said its from $5 to $100+ and he said woah what’s in those boxes?!?!  hahaha I showed him the review sites and the boxes websites and he was like its cool but how many beauty products do i need or accessories or bottles of BBQ sauce?  which is true I don’t need all that stuff but it’s the fun of getting a box in the mail and opening it and finding out new trendy products for a low price! 

After a week or so of looking at a bunch review websites and a friend told me about IPSY after talking about it with her.  So, I’ve decided to go with IPSY for $10 a month and see if i will like it besides I didn’t find any deals with others and Birchbox has a waitlist and with IPSY I clicked to share on FaceBook and I was off the wait list!  I got the June and July IPSY Glam Bag and like them both so far!  I will do a review on them on a later post.  Last week, I started my annual subscription with Birchbox and got a great deal on Gilt City!!! $99 for one year subscription and if you are a new member to Gilt City use welcome20 to recieve a 20% off and this deal comes with a $25 Birchbox credit to use on their shops.  this equal to about less than $6 a box so I couldn’t resist this deal!  and I can’t wait to get my first box too!
